Edinburgh Marathon Route
The route has changed over the last few years. Early comments aboout the hill have been accommodated, leading to what is now one of the flattest marathon courses, making the Edinburgh Marathon an excellent race for obtaining a personal best. It also boasts some great sites along the way.
The Edinburgh Marathon 2013 will start on Princes Street. Runners will then head down Waterloo Place and Regent Road before turning right to Abbeymount and Abbeyhill. After passing through Holyrood Park, the route carries on towards the coast before heading along to Musselburgh then the fishing areas of Cockenzie and Port Seton. Next, runners pass through the grounds of Gosford House. Finally, the last stretch takes runners back along the coast to Port Seaton promenade before finishing at Musselburgh Racecourse.
