The Gardener's Cottage

Escape the hustle and bustle of the city as you walk up the garden path to our wonderfully intimate little restaurant. Seating is communal at our three long tables, and the atmosphere is always welcoming.

Built in 1836, for many years the cottage was home to the gardener of Edinburgh’s Royal Terrace Gardens. Today, the tradition continues with our gardener Charlie, who plants and grows the fruit, vegetables and herbs that make their way to your plate.

All the dishes beutifully crafted from seasonal sustainably-sourced produce. Our team of chefs, butchers and bakers create a feast of dishes every day, so you can enjoy something different each time you visit.

At dinner, there is no printed menu, instead each dish is presented in turn allowing a wonderful surprise to unfold before your eyes and tastebuds.
