Although it is super easy to travel to Edinburgh by public transport often guests staying for longer than just a weekend will have allot more luggage and so its much easier to drive.

Parking in Edinburgh can be a real problem for tourists, there is of course a park and ride services but this can be a little daunting when visiting Scotland's capital for the first time. 

Public car parks in Edinburgh are pretty expensive!

Edinburgh City Centre has several carparks all are approximately £20-25 per 24hrs.. there are some cheaper methods such as booking in advance, staying for several days or using the airport carpark and tram / bus system.
